I hope you’ve been enjoying Terry’s writings as much as I have. It’s a privilege to publish them. Terry is one of the few people in the world who’ve taken such a deep dive into this promising way of democracy. I’m still amazed at our luck that he lives right here, in our little city of Burlington, VT!

If you’ve found his work interesting or inspiring, I’m here to ask you to consider making a contribution to Democracy Creative.

Everything we do is on a volunteer basis: from Terry’s writings; to Assemble, the tool we’re building to help anyone understand, imagine, and advocate for citizens’ assemblies; to our outreach and information efforts; to the thriving community space we’ve run for the past four years.

We’re developing a tool called Assemble that will help anyone understand, imagine, and advocate for a citizens’ assembly that is relevant to their city, state, or country. We think it will help citizens’ assemblies spread more quickly across the world, and we can’t wait to share more about it with you.

Of course, we’re rewarded for our work in many non-financial ways. It’s a thrill to see discussion about citizens’ assemblies growing in Vermont, and it’s remarkable to hear about the ways our office-turned-community space (made possible by The Soda Plant!) has had such a big impact on so many people’s lives.

Our office-turned-community space has been one of the most rewarding projects of Democracy Creative. It has helped us spread our ideas about transforming democracy, while serving a wider community role in Burlington.

While we’re overflowing when it comes to appreciation and enthusiasm, each month we’re only barely able to cover our expenses and keep this labor of love afloat. We’re only able to find a way because of many people who are on this email list.
