I am doing final edits to the final section of the final chapter of this book, and will post it within a few days. However, I also need to add a section to chapter 13 “Objections to Sortition” that goes into more detail on the thorny issue of legitimacy. I need to do some more reading before completing that, so it may take a few weeks.
Once this entire book draft is complete, I return to the task of trying to get the book published as a paper book that can be sold in bookstores and online. For years I have sent out book proposals to at least 50 different publishers. But, no acquisition editors have taken it up. If any of you have good ideas, or contacts, that would help it get published, you can leave a comment. I may end up going the self-published route, but will need advice on that as well.
So, there are still a two more posts to come (end of chapter 17, and then later, another section of chapter 13). I have released one or more posts per week starting on May 18, 2023 — sixteen months ago. Whew.
i think that this is important work that could have great impact.
i think you will need to hone it razor sharp, and reflect on who the voice is and what the tone is - so it speaks personally as well as factually. imagine if david sedaris wrote every fifth line! kidding, but yeah, forceful, funny, unapologetic, tight, read in 1-2 nights.
i’d love to help honestly! i need to make my own cheat sheet of it anyway to really internalize the rationale - i will share that once i have something.
really value this work!
My personal experience with self-publishing: you're a drop within the big, blue sea. Without a publishing house and its publicity, you're inexistent.
