I agree with Bob. The history is interesting to me. The US and French revolutions set examples for representative government that spread or were imposed all over the world. I think spending a little more time on them is useful.
as a georgist, i get excited when they talk about getting rid of the requirement of land to vote. however, i know now that hasn't really helped get the landed interests out of power.
