No jurisdiction has REPLACED an elected government with sortition, but several have "add-ons." Ostbelgien, (East Belgium) with a population of just 77,000 has a permanent (but rotating) multi-body sortition system, and Paris also has a similar system. Both only supplement the elected legislative bodies.
Has any city or town anywhere tried a sortition model for city or town council? If so, how did it work? I’m thinking modern day, not Ancient Greece.
